Senior Software Engineer

In the role of Senior Software Engineer you will:

• Participate in our Product Sprints: collaborate on planning, requirements and design. Develop the Livingdocs platform across frontend, backend, databases, search and APIs, making smart use of AI-assisted tools.
• Own features end to end: from understanding customer needs through implementation and review to release and support the team that rolls them out across our many customer setups.
• Always consider how changes affect customers: flag breaking changes, explain migration steps and help ship fixes to maintained releases. Communicate features and changes clearly to internal teams and customers, both directly and through release notes and documentation.
• Reduce technical debt by continuously refactoring existing code, modernising features, increasing test coverage and keeping APIs stable with clear deprecation paths. Contribute to architectural decisions that keep the platform consistent and scalable. 
• Help improve how we work by initiating and contributing to workshops, retrospectives and other formats. Ask the right questions, simplify complexity and collaborate with the team to find clear solutions.

You have several years of experience in frontend and backend development, modern web architectures and the web platform itself. Ideally, familiarity with a mature product and a good sense of what it takes to keep it maintainable. You are fluent in JavaScript, experienced in Node.js and proficient in Vue.js or other modern front-end frameworks. Working with Git, the command line and npm is something you are familiar with, experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Postgres, Redis or Elasticsearch is a plus. AI-assisted engineering and using AI tools to work more productively is a big interest of yours, plus you have the habit of actively exploring new technologies and development practices. Your clear, confident communication is turning ideas into solid concepts and working code, explaining technical topics so that people without an engineering background can follow and giving and receiving constructive feedback with ease. And you are fluent in written and spoken English. Speaking German is a bonus.
