Curator

HELVETIKA 1575 AG is a contemporary art gallery based in Zug, with a new gallery space opening on Rennweg in Zurich. We represent a deliberately small and selective group of international artists – from established names to mid-career and emerging positions – and work closely with collectors, foundations and museums.

We are looking for a Curator who will shape our exhibition programme and strengthen the gallery's institutional profile.

You are responsible for the artistic programme of the gallery: exhibitions, artist development and institutional relationships. You work hands-on in a small team and turn ideas into finished exhibitions, publications and placements.

• Develop and realise the annual exhibition programme in Zurich, including solo shows, group exhibitions and art fair presentations
• Build and maintain close working relationships with our artists, including studio visits, production of new works and exhibition planning
• Scout new artists and prepare well-founded proposals for onboarding (established, mid-career and emerging)
• Develop institutional placements and partnerships with museums, foundations, biennials and curators
• Write and edit exhibition texts, artist biographies, CVs, press releases and catalogue content
• Coordinate exhibition logistics: loans, transport, insurance, installation and condition reports, together with the team
• Represent the gallery at openings, art fairs and professional events, and contribute to collector and press relations
• Plan your work in clear blocks with measurable goals and report progress in the weekly team meeting

• A completed university degree in Art History, Curatorial Studies, Fine Arts, Cultural Management or a related field – or equivalent professional experience
• At least 3 years of curatorial experience in a gallery, museum, foundation or art institution
• A track record of exhibitions you have curated or co-curated
• A solid network among artists, curators and institutions, ideally in Switzerland and the DACH region
• Excellent writing skills in English; German is a strong advantage, French a plus
• Strong organisational skills, reliability and the ability to work independently and proactively in a small team
• Confident, professional presence with artists, collectors and institutional partners
• Willingness to travel (art fairs, studio visits, international exhibitions)
