Operational Technology Integration Lead
Connecting plant-floor automation with enterprise data platforms to power the future of biopharmaceutical manufacturing, this role leads the OT integration for the flagship Operations Data Hub Phase 1 in Basel.
This role is primarily based on site in Basel. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards. We offer flexibility to work remotely/and other sites. Requests are considered on a case‑by‑case basis, in line with business needs.

What you will do:
- Drive the core data integration strategy that connects plant-floor automation directly into Lonza's Operations Data Hub (ODH).
- Lead matrixed execution across site automation teams, global engineering, system integrators, and vendors such as Emerson.
- Deliver production-grade integrations across DeltaV DCS, Syncade MES, AVEVA PI Historian, and LIMS environments.
- Direct the technical configuration of Ignition, HiveMQ, MQTT brokers, UDTs, and OT data interfaces.
- Own source-to-target mapping for complex manufacturing context including batches, materials, equipment, and recipes.
- Mentor project resources and establish reusable, version-controlled OT integration standards and DevSecOps release patterns.
- Lead OT connectivity assessments within the Cross-Platform Network Assessment to shape future global rollout blueprints.
What we are looking for:
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in Operational Technology (OT) integration and digital manufacturing architectures.
- Proven technical mastery of industrial control systems including DeltaV DCS, Syncade MES, and AVEVA PI Historian.
- Hands-on expertise with industrial data platforms, edge architectures, MQTT, HiveMQ brokers, and Ignition configurations.
- Strong knowledge of ISA-88 / ISA-95 standards, data mapping, and bridging OT/IT boundary systems.
- Demonstrated experience working within regulated GMP environments, applying CSV/CSA and data integrity standards.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Excellent collaborative leadership skills with business fluent English communication.
